Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-03

By signing in to brink with your Google account, you ("the user") agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them. They are deliberately short.

1. The service

brink is a Travel-Aware Calendar service. It automatically creates travel-time blocks on your Google Calendar based on live traffic estimates. The service is operated by Rizwan Thakur, an individual based in Mumbai, India.

2. Eligibility

You must (a) be at least 13 years old, (b) have a valid Google account, and (c) have authority to grant brink access to the calendar you sign in with. brink is currently in private beta and access is by invitation only — your email must be on the brink allowlist before you can complete sign-in.

3. Free during beta

brink is provided free of charge during the friend-beta period. There are no fees, trials, or hidden charges. brink reserves the right to introduce paid tiers at a later date; existing users will be notified at least 30 days before any pricing change takes effect, and you may stop using brink at any time without penalty.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

brink reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts found in violation of acceptable use, immediately and without notice.

5. Your data, your responsibility

brink reads your calendar and writes travel-time blocks to it. You are responsible for ensuring this is appropriate for your account, your employer (if it's a work calendar), and your privacy preferences. brink encourages you to review the Privacy Policy before granting OAuth access.

You may delete the travel blocks brink creates at any time. When you do, brink treats this as an explicit signal that you do not want the block recreated, and it will not recreate it for 24 hours (see brink's "Re-enable travel block" affordance in the dashboard to override the cool-down).

6. Service availability + warranty disclaimer

brink runs on Google Cloud Platform with the standard reliability characteristics of that platform, but brink provides no Service Level Agreement (SLA) during the friend-beta period. The service may be unavailable, delayed, or incorrect at any time, including without notice. brink is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including without limitation any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

You should not rely solely on brink for time-critical travel planning. Always verify brink's travel-block recommendations against your own judgment before acting on them. brink is a helper, not a guarantor.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, brink (and its operator) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to damages for missed meetings, lost revenue, lost data, or any other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.

brink's total cumulative liability for direct damages, if any, shall not exceed the amount you have paid for the service — which, during friend-beta, is zero.

8. Termination

You may stop using brink at any time by signing out and revoking brink's access at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. For complete data deletion, see the Privacy Policy section 6.

brink may terminate your access at any time, with or without cause, by emailing notice to the address you signed in with. brink intends to be polite about this and will, except in cases of acceptable-use violation, give at least 30 days' notice.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

10. Changes to these Terms

brink may revise these Terms over time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use brink after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
